Thank you for the compliment, especially since I transitioned over six years ago and stopped being a "red blooded male" then! :D
By the second year I came as Amy to the office (as a fairy princess), people were actually calling me "Amy" that day. By the third year (when I dressed "metal," complete with black leather dress, fishnets, and boots), at least one person told me she preferred seeing "Amy." My fourth year was as a lady doctor, complete with lab coat, real medical instruments, and a custom nametag identifying me as "Staff Clinician - Lili Elbe Memorial Hospital." By then, people could kind of see the writing on the wall.
I reused a couple of my past costumes for events this year: the goddess Athena (complete with a stuffed Bubo the owl!) and a Renaissance queen.
