That snake antivenom you were charged $50,000 for is probably available for $200 down in Mexico, at the same quality, from the same manufacturer even. Yet, if you drive down there, fill your trunk with the stuff, and try to bring it back to sell in the U.S., you'll wind up thrown in the slam-slam. This is a key problem; pharmaceutical companies charge more in the U.S. because they can, to subsidize other countries that refuse to pay as much. This needs to stop, with a measure that requires that wholesale drug pricing in the U.S. be on a "most favored nation" basis, which will effectively force a uniform price across the world.
