This is similar to "SNUBA," which I once did in Molokini Crater off Maui. For that, you wear SCUBA-type breathing apparatus, but the tanks are in a little raft that floats on the surface, and you're connected to them by a 30-foot hose. In the crater environment, it let me go down near the bottom and see various interesting things. It was definitely fun.
